About

Welcome. I’m Lionel—the voice behind Falcon & Crow.

This site is a quiet space I’ve built for reflection, conversation, and meaning-making. It’s part journal, part hearth, and part signal fire—an evolving home for ideas that matter and emotions that refuse to stay buried.

I live with bipolar disorder, though that’s not all I am. I’ve known the tides of mania and depression for decades, often untreated or misdiagnosed, and I’ve walked through years of confusion, exhaustion, misfires, and grace. Medication helps only so much. What helps more is understanding, endurance, and having people in your life who won’t let go—even when you’re trying to disappear.

But Falcon & Crow isn’t just about bipolar. It’s about what rises from within the storm.

It’s about rediscovering passion, wonder, and tenderness in a world that often forgets them. It’s about myth, memory, grief, joy, and the strange beauty of human resilience. I explore these things through writing, philosophy, psychological insight, sometimes science—and sometimes just raw truth.

You’ll find essays here. Dreams. Reflections. Music. Moments. I may speak of mental illness, but also of art and archetypes, of being a partner and a wanderer, of the myths that shape us and the courage it takes to see clearly. I don’t have all the answers. I don’t trust easy ones. But I believe in honesty, compassion, and staying present for one another—even across distance.

If you’ve been diagnosed late, if you’ve been misunderstood, or if you just feel strange and unplaceable—I see you.
And if you’ve never been through those things, but you care to understand… you are welcome here too.

Come in. Sit. Let me tell you a story.
